Environmental Sustainability
Our Environmental Policy
Gupta Machine Tools is committed to be a responsible organization, which does not cause any unacceptable impact to the environment. We pledge to comply with all applicable environmental laws in India, as well as any customer specified guidelines/requirements related to the Environmental Management System (EMS). We communicate this policy to all our employees to ensure their understanding and participation in our EMS.
Our Actions:
We have installed solar power panels in our Export Unit that generate upto 400KW of solar power. This huge investment has paid off and resulted in massive savings for our company. We are now focused on investing further in solar power in all our other factories.
We are taking steps to play our part in reducing deforestation. We use recycled wood bought directly from importers, to package our goods for exports; while all domestic supplies are sent on returnable steel plates.
We also have an underground rainwater harvesting tank, with a capacity of 1.2 million litres of rainwater, which is stored and then used in the dry seasons for plantation and cooling purposes of machines once it is properly treated.
We do not use any solid fuels, and use only PNG for Aluminium Die Casting Furnaces.
Economic Sustainability
Gupta Machine Tools is a debt-free company and enjoys a outstanding Crisil Rating, and we ensure any financial obligation over time can be met on time.
Other than that, we also work to ensure minimal wastage in our operations, by developing more efficient supply chains, and using the minimum possible resources to produce our goods, thus, ensuring the use of available resources in a way that is both efficient and responsible.
Social Sustainability
Gupta Machine Tools has also provided significant funds in the past to the ISKON Food Relief Foundation, which provides mid day meals to underprivileged students.
Our retirement scheme ensures all company retirees leave us with respect and dignity, and we have generous retirement packages for them.
We have improved the areas around our factories by planting trees, and in collaboration provide healthy and filling meals for 5 rupees to workers and labourers in our factories and from neighbouring areas.
We also ensure we have optimal working conditions and take care to implement various safety measures in order to ensure the safety and security of all our employees.
